Dr. Alveda Williams is Corporate Director of the Office of Inclusion and Senior HR Director for Talent Acquisition at Dow. She is responsible for driving and implementing the Company’s global inclusion strategy, ensuring fair and equitable end-to-end talent acquisition processes, and institutionalizing inclusion into the overall employee experience for breakthrough results. This includes maximizing employee resource group engagement, diversifying Dow's talent pipeline and supplier network and driving efforts that enable a culture of trust.
Under Alveda’s leadership, Dow has moved the needle on key inclusion and diversity performance indicators, ascended to the #15 spot on the DiversityInc Top 50 list, and been named for the first time to the Great Place to Work and Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For List.
Alveda earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Norfolk State University (Norfolk, VA) in 1997 and Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign, IL) in 2002. She holds three patents and is the author of a number of external and internal publications. Alveda currently serves on the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Corporate Council, Open Chemistry Collaborative in Diversity Equity (OXIDE) Board of Directors, and i4CP’s Diversity and Inclusive Board. She is the recipient of a number of individual awards, including the NSBE Golden Torch Award for Corporate Diversity Leadership, prestigious Dow Transformation in Action Award, Council for Chemical Research Diversity Award, Diversity Journal’s Women Worth Watching List, and i4CP’s Board Member of the Year Award.
